I Met A Kinesiology Practitioner—Here’s What Happened Next

Curious about energy healing? Here’s what I learned about hacking complete wellness with the bio-energetic balance from internationally-recognised osteopath Dr. Rashida Naraharasetti.

I moved to a new city for a job, being away from close ones changed my life in many unexpected ways. I was constantly asking myself who I was and how do I forge a stronger connection with myself? With the new location and job, personal issues compounded with inevitable anxiety and stress. While I started with meditation and yoga, I looked for something more that might help me calm down, drain negativity and focus on conscious living.

I happened to attend the event ‘family wellness with bioenergetic balance’ carried out by Dr. Rashida Narahasetti, MBBS, DOMP, a specialised kinesiology practitioner from Canada. She explained how the body's energies and willpower can help overcome one’s fear, weaknesses, and illness. She said, “Often, people lose their willpower to fight the situation they are in. To encourage personal responsibility, self-care, and improve quality of life, developing ‘self-healing ability is important”. That's where kinesiology comes into the picture.

Kinesiology is a way to observe the energy flow within our body. It impacts our innate strength to overcome illness, stress, and health conditions. A 2020 research published in the International Journal of Behavioural Medicine shows that willpower beliefs in patients with knee osteoarthritis improved their mobility and functioning. Dr. Narahasetti states, “Our conscious mind sees or feels only ten percent of actual events that happen in and around our body such as:

  • Will power
  • Long-term memory
  • Logical thinking
  • Critical thinking

What is Energy Kinesiology ?

Energy Kinesiology is the study of energy flows through manual muscle testing. The manual muscle tests evaluate the body's response to provide information on energy blockages, functioning of the organs, nutritional imbalances, and food sensitivities. The corrections are subtle, simple, and non-invasive and help reconnect disorganised neutral transmission and encourage balance and healthy energy flows.

At the family wellness seminar, I tried a bioenergetic healing technique. Dr. Narahasetti commenced the program and addressed the people present at the event. During the event, she demonstrated the healing process by asking me to sit upright and relax the body. She asked me to close my eyes and focus hard on the emotional stress I was going through at the moment. Next thing, she guided me to touch my forehead with the heel of the palm above the eyebrows and harness my body's energy to heal from within.

Bio-energetic Healing Techniques

A simple bioenergetic healing technique to cure emotional pain looks like this:

  • Sit comfortably, and relax your body.
  • Touch your forehead area lightly with the heel of the palm above your eyebrows, fingers extending over the top of the head; place the other hand on the back of the head.
  • And think hard about the pain and focus on the reasons for about a minute. After a minute, evaluate yourself. You notice that you start feeling better than before.

This process channels energy to the liver, pituitary gland, pineal, and hypothalamus (located at the base of the brain that controls temperature, sleep, mood, and behaviour) to balance hormones and induce calmness.

Affirmation Technique In Bio-Energetic Healing

  • Stand bare feet on ground, visualise your feet connected firmly to the ground and the roots spreading far and deep for one minute.
  • It helps you become grounded physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, socially, and financially.

The emotional gush I felt was powerful. After performing this process, I could feel the pain magically lessened and induced a sense of happiness. Due to the dominance of pain, the negative energy blocks the ability to think. However, after the kinesiology process, I could feel the change in the degree of emotional pain intensity as positive energy facilitated by my willpower, healed the triggering point.

Dr. Narahasetti is leading 'Touch For Health', a study of energy flow through manual muscle testing. Energy kinesiology session includes a series of muscle tests (42 pairs of muscle tests) to evaluate and recognise energy blockages, organ functions, nutrition imbalances and emotional imbalances as well. The ‘Touch For Health’ concept integrates the holistic worldview of the east combined with the vitalistic tradition of the west.

What Is Kinesiology Therapy Based Upon?

Energy kinesiology is based on the body’s innate ability to self-heal. It is a mixture of eastern and western therapy and reflex corrections.

  • The eastern energy system, like reflexology that alternative medicine healers use to soothe the nervous system, promote relaxation and reduce stress in the feet. As per a 2022 study issued in Centre For Integrative Medicine, the eastern energy-based therapy is Jin Shin Jyutsu, a Japanese healing art to channel the flow of energy by gentle touch by hand placements at certain muscle points.
  • Acupressure is another therapy that helps kinesiologists to regulate the flow of Qi (energy) and reduces bodily pain. Tai Chi, an ancient Chinese soft-moving exercise regulates energy throughout the body. A 2022 study published in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine reveals that Tai Chi is especially beneficial for old people, bound to wheelchairs or those who are recovering from surgery.
  • The intimate connection between the nervous system and the lymphatic system in both health and disease has long been acknowledged in osteopathic medicine. The western reflex corrections are spinal reflexes, neuro-lymphatic reflexes, neurovascular reflexes, spindle cell techniques, the origin and insertion technique, and cerebrospinal fluid flow, claims a study in StatPearls, 2022.

How Does Kinesiology Work?

Dr. Narahasetti explains, “energy holds the blueprint of our body. It implies that the body never lies about any type of inconvenience and discomfort.” A complete bio-energy balance is a perfect choice in any condition as the root cause of illness symptoms could be deep-seated. This therapy heals the individual from within, which works primarily on his/her willpower. Using their innate ability to get better, this energy works and gives positive outcomes.

Basically, the bio-energetic balance triggers the healing points with a simple touch to evaluate the body's energy flow in three dimensions of the body—biochemical, emotional, and structural. By doing a muscle test and meridian corrections, a self or natural healing technique.
