Anapakaya Perugu Pachadi or bottle gourd chutney pairs very well with idli, rice and roti. The main ingredient bottle gourd is very rich in essential minerals, iron, protein, and fibre. Bottle gourd is also low in calories and can therefore be utilised in low calorie diets.

Easy Steps
01Wash, peel and chop the bottle gourd into small pieces.
02Next, pressure cook the bottle gourd for two whistles.
03Then, drain the excess water and allow it to cool. Keep aside.
04For the tadka, heat the oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds, urad dal and cumin seeds and let the ingredients splutter.
- Chopped coriander leaves: ½ cup
- Green chillies: 2
- Yoghurt or hung curd: 1 cup
- Chopped anapakaya (bottle gourd): 1 cup
For The Tadka
- Mustard seeds: ¼ tsp
- Salt: 1
- Turmeric: ⅛ tsp
- Oil: 1 tsp
- Dry red chilli: 1
- Cumin: ¼ tsp
- Curry leaves: 1 sprig
- Chana dal: ½ tsp
- Urad dal: ½ tsp
Add the dry red chilli and curry leaves and fry for a minute.
06Add the cooked bottle gourd to the tadka.
07For the chutney, grind coriander and green chilli into a fine paste.
08In a bowl, beat the yogurt with salt and turmeric.
09Next, add the coriander and green chilli paste to the beaten yoghurt.
10Finally, top the yoghurt with seasoned bottle gourd and serve.
